Method chapter is published.

We have contributed a chapter to the new Xenopus protocols book that is being published by Cold Spring Harbor Press.  This book is a long time coming, and will be a great resource to the community.  Glad we could be a part of it.  Our chapter is about cohesion and condensation assays using Xenopus egg extracts.

In press!

We’re pleased to announce that we have a new story in press at PNAS.  Reem and Eulália are co-first authors, but many others made critical contributions to this work.  Thanks to everyone for all their efforts!  The study improves our understanding of how chromosome structure is regulated in interphase, and it the basis for an exciting new set of experiments currently underway.

Thanks Lauren. Great job!

Lauren Gawey came to the lab through the Fleming scholar program this summer.  She learned a lot, FAST, and generated some interesting data.  It as great to have her around, and we all enjoyed her company and enthusiasm. Now she’s off to Italy for an exciting semester abroad.  I’m sure she’ll miss us!

Daria’s here

We are very pleased to welcome Daria Klusa, who joins the lab as part of the Fullbright Poska program.  Daria will be learning how to use egg extracts to study mechanisms of cohesion establishment and maintenance.  Welcome aboard Daria!

Dawn and Don.

I’m very pleased to announce that Dawn has received a scholarship from the Patricia H. and J. Donald Capra Scholarship Fund.  This is particularly poignant for me because Don was such a strong early supporter of my lab.  His enthusiasm and support live on in this scholarship, and we are so appreciative.  CONGRATULATIONS, DAWN! (all caps, just the way Don would have said it!)
